After we got done hiking and playing in the reservoir at Tibble Fork, we decided that we loved American Fork Canyon and paid for a three-day pass so why not make it a fun family Sunday dinner and drive back up for a weenie and s'mores roast!
Who knew that EVERYONE and their dog would be thinking the same thing. The picnic spots were all full, so we kept driving and found this AWESOME campsite at Timpanooke. We're going to be going back for Isaac's birthday campout.
Fire building was surprisingly easy for this guy.
It was the collecting kindle that the birds didn't like. They let him know by pooping on him...eeww...
Wowza! That's one awesome fire! Mountain Man is ready for roasting. He means business.
This little man was into everything. He wouldn't stay on the towel we brought for him. Nope. That's not what the cool babies do. There was just WAY too much to see and eat.
Mommy & Kyle
Burned weenies over the campfire for dinner. My favorite!
Allison is like me. LOVES s'mores done right. Mountain Man just wanted to roast them for us and then eat the others straight out of the bag. What a nut!
This was Steven's preferred s'more combination. Sacrilegious if you ask me.
This little man agrees with me. He has a new favorite food. Marshmallows.
"What!?! You mean to tell me I can't have another one!?"
(he'd eaten 2)
Randomness we found at the site. Cherries stuck to branch knobs along the tree branch.
The kids spent some time exploring.
As did Daddy & Kyle, but Kyle wasn't too sure about those tree branches.
As we were leaving, we caught sight of these beauties. Moose! THREE of them! We watched them for quite a while. Then when we were driving away, they decided they wanted to cross the street right in front of us. Talk about the BEST way to end our weekend in the mountains!

I have not roasted a marshmallow over a fire in ages! Looks like you had a great time!
k....this is just COOL! and pictures are awesome.....how come I have never heard of a s'more with REESES?!!!
Wow! Didn't know there were moose clear up there! Looks like a perfect way to spend an evening in the hills! Love the photos. And now I am so hungry for s'mores ... and hot dogs roasted on a stick in the mountains. Can't be anything better on a hot summer evening.
