Float Preview 2010

I'm seriously behind in all my posting.
This one comes from the end of July.  In Utah we celebrate the settling of the state by the LDS Pioneers on the 24th of July.  The holiday is called "Pioneer Day".  Well, every year for Pioneer Day there is a massive parade called the "Days of '47 Parade".  Companies from all around enter floats in this parade.  The best part about is that there is a float preview at one of the large event centers in Sandy.  We go EVERY year.  We even get to vote on our favorite float. This year we went twice.  Once in the morning with my Sis and her son and then later with Steven.
We absolutely LOVE our ReAL Salt Lake Soccer team.
This float was the kid's favorite.
Wal-mart was paying tribute to the movie
"How to Train Your Dragon."  We had to get a picture...

This is the float my stake made for the Youth Parade the week before.  We were all amateurs and it shows.  My ward (me and a few others) made the globe in front.  Not too shabby...we even won an award!
This float was our favorite.
I'm sure it was almost everyone's favorite, though.
It was AMAZING what all went into creating it and all the extra educational parts in it, too.
Here's a fun video all about this awesome float from one of our local news stations.

And now we begin our second visit that day with Steven.

Allison is obsessed with Princess and the frog.....

Allison insisted on taking our picture with this float.  Not too bad for our 6 year-old photographer!!!
