VanWinkle-Jensen Reunion 2011

The place:  Lava Hot Springs, Idaho
Day 1: The Old Schoolhouse Inn
All the girl cousins
Allison beating the pinata. The entertainment provided by Matt & Ashley in celebration of three birthdays in their family that week!
The birthday kids. (LtoR) Shad, Crispin, Eden
Day 2: The Water Park at Lava Hot Springs
Allison was in LOVE with the slides!
Shad going off the diving board!
Going down yet another slide...
Steven going down a slide...that's quite the wake!

Allison LOVED this set of slides best.   Especially the pink one...it drops straight down!!!!
They hiked the stairs to the top together.
Then Allison saw her opening and went for it.
Didn't even wait for Steven to tell her she could go.  She just...went!
Then kept going down these slides over and over and over...this girl has NO FEAR!
Aw, this is the face of pure happiness!
This is something I started w/ the kids...I LOVED it when my Dad would throw me in the air in a big pool.
Since I couldn't do it for them this year, Steven was a good sport to play along...Isaac wanted to be thrown in the air, though we were nervous since he can't swim just yet.

Allison...she got some air!!!
Miss Meg.  Such a cutie!
David, Lara, Megan
David was so cute with Isaac the whole trip...they were buddies!
Allison, Steven & Isaac...they don't know how to take a bad photo together....and when there is so much fun being had!

Ashley & Crispin

Isaac didn't want to hang out with me.  Gramma Dixie was a good sport since he only wanted to hang on her.
After playing in the big pools and slides, we went back to our Inn for dinner and then packed up for an evening at the hot springs.
David, Michael, Jake & Grampa relaxing in one of the hot springs.
Heehee...Shad giving me a smile.  I had to surprise him to get this one!
Michael being held by Mommy (sara)
A lousy attempt at a group photo, but funny none-the-less!
Sisters and their youngest.
You can tell she was having a GREAT time!!!
Steven, Isaac and Ashley attempted the hottest of the hot springs...nope.  WAY too hot!
 Day 3: Chesterfield, Idaho
an Historic Townsite

Steven and Isaac
Steven was trying to get into character, but trying to be a pioneer was proving quite difficult with this old rusted machinery.
Allison is All About anything Pioneer!
Meg looking as cute as ever trying to work this machine

Allison and Crispin
Ashley playing the SUPER old organ inside the old church with ease!
This one just makes me laugh.  Matt (an engineer) couldn't get enough of this  milk separator.
He genuinely wanted to figure out how to make it work!
After Chesterfield, the kids all put together a bike parade...with Aunt Ashley's help and smarts of course.  They LOVED it!
Spencer began the parade
They got all decorated-up...even their bikes!
Isaac was as excited as could be to be in a "parade" for all of us to see...such a cute happy face!
Everyone in attendance at the reunion!  Uncle Cameron and Uncle Ben couldn't make it and were sorely missed.
The last thing we did was to watch fireworks.  Sadly, this is the only photo that turned out, but the fireworks were spectacular!

Awesome pictures Lisa!!! You got such good shots of all the major events! The only thing you're missing is the morning exercise routine and a picture of the school itself! Thanks for sharing!!!! AShley

Looks like a super fun time with family! The only problem with you being the photographer, however, is I miss seeing photos of YOU! Glad you finally made it into one of the photos - and you look great! (The kids are growing up too fast, by the way.)

I'm in charge of our reunion this year and seriously looked into doing it there, but decided it was going to cost too much. Wishing now that we had gone ahead and done it. Looks like a super blast for all of you!

Looks like so much fun! So was the water treated in any way? Or just straight from the springs? We're going to a hot springs 8hrs north of our FSJ house in September. Excited! Never been before.
