Horsey Rides

Allison has been begging me to let her ride a horse.  She has an obsession with horses from who knows where.  Well, come to find out a friend, in our ward, parent's own horses and just live up the street from us.  Perfect!!!  One Sunday evening they called and let us know that Sundance a.k.a. Sunny was ready for rides and could we come over.  YOU BET!  Allison was in HEAVEN! She probably could've spent another few hours riding Sunny.
Isaac was not excited.  He was rather timid and terrified.  It's so interesting to see the difference in personalities with these two kids.  He would only ride Sunny with Allison at the back, but once they were done, he was extremely ready to get off.  Allison couldn't leave the horses alone.
Isaac did seem okay with feeding hay to the horses when they were behind the fence.
So I showed the kids the right way to feed the horses (the horses names are Butch and Cassity, I believe..definitely a theme)some hay by getting a long piece and letting the horse nibble on it.  I didn't want the horses to think their hands were the food, too!
Then it was Sunny's turn.  See that bow in his back.  Yeah, he's 30 years old...we were told that he's on his last set of teeth which means he's not going to live much longer.  Didn't know that was how a horses life-span was measured.  Interesting.
The kids were having some fun on this airplane teeter-totter.  Hayden, my friend's son, is in front.

Thanks Chris & Jacque for remembering us and sharing a fun Sunday evening with us!

What a lucky young lady! You're fortunate to have friends to help you with her obsession.

So cool. I love when friends have connections.
