We took a semi-vacation in the middle of July up to Heber, UT to go camping. Really, it was only 1/2 camping since we stayed at the LDS Church Girls Camp. Amenities included: cabins, running water, toilets, showers, electricity. So, technically, we weren't really roughing it (NO we didn't use the showers, but did take full advantage of the flushing toilets we had to hike to get to), but for our first official camping trip as a family, it was good.
We arrived early in the afternoon on Friday and met up with Grampa Steve. First things first, a hike. All five of us, Grampa included, hiked UP THE WHOLE WAY for what felt like a mile, to an amazing overlook. I'm just so so so glad we had something beautiful to look at when we reached the top. It was so blasted HOT and so little shade that we (minus mountain-man Grampa) were all wearing out fast!
We made it to the top! Hooray!

I saw this cute log situated so quaintly, and wanted to get a picture with Allison. Little did I know, that behind that log, was a nubby scratchy piece that totally attacked my leg. That would have been a good picture, Lisa bleeding as we hiked it back down the hill! Ouch!
Isaac is normally super cautious, but this camping trip brought out the boy in this boy. There were squirrels running around us where our picnic table was at every meal. Isaac eventually got super super close to one. He thought they were pretty fun and probably wanted to catch one!

Steven, Isaac and I started out in a canoe. Isaac was all over the place, walking back and forth and looking at EVERYTHING! He even found these ducks that he wanted to grab. We eventually couldn't take the stress of the canoe and not tipping it over, so we switched to the paddle boat. 
All ready to get out on the lake!

Looks like you had a lot of fun! I was thinking we should do that with our side sometime this next year. We haven't done a family vacation in AGES!!! I think the last one was when you got married. Then we have all had a newborn each summer! Maybe we would be ok this next summer?! Unless....you were thinking other wise? ;) just kidding!
